Intern Trainee

Chong Kin Jiet, LAW Junior Intern
Kin Jiet is an outgoing teenager born in 2011. He has been a part of Language Arts Workshop since he was 5 years-old. The facilitators in LAW prefer to call him KJ as it is easier to pronounce and remember.
As a kinesthetic learner, KJ enjoys sessions and lessons that include movement and action. This also makes him highly suited for coaching younger learners and accompanying them for outdoor activities during his Intern duties.
KJ also loves hosting and conducting podcasts for the students under his care. Sometimes, he would even help them complete their artworks for LAW events or their group exams. His roles as an intern in LAW will give him a good head start in gaining the leadership skills and confidence necessary to do well in his school projects, presentations and group assignments.
In the future, KJ aims to venture into the field of professional photography. He believes that when the time comes, all the skills that he has learned in LAW will be useful in helping him communicate with his clients and be successful in his passion.

Ooi Li Yan, LAW Junior Intern
Ooi Li Yan has been a member of LAW since 2019, and has completed Performance Arts (PA) Grade 2 and Communication Skills Individual (CSI) Grades 3 and 4 during her time here. Currently, she is attempting both CSI 5 and PA (Group) 4 with her classmates.

Tan Xuan Rou, LAW Junior Intern
Xuan Rou is a 14-year old student athlete. She has an adventurous and outgoing personality that makes it easy for her to try new things and make friends. She has a deep interest in sports, and is actively involved in competitive swimming and fencing. She is also involved in her school’s broadcasting team as a Vice Secretary. As a hands-on person with an active mind, she finds learning through play enjoyable and helpful.
Currently, Xuan Rou is progressing well in her Communication Skills Individual Grade 5 journey with her classmates, and learning to apply the many skills she learned there in her day-to-day life. She is also an intern trainee who is learning to coach her peers in the Friday evening group. Besides getting to help students who are facing similar challenges she had faced before, teaching her peers has made her realise that teaching is also a super effective way of recap and reinforce her past lessons. From her intern, sports and academic experience, she has developed a principle of listening to her peers. She understands that in order to learn or teach, she must first understand other peoples’ perspectives.
Besides her academic and athletic involvements, she enjoys playing simple card and board games with her friends. She also likes to make things with her hands–anything from easy drawings to complex origami. While she is not a fan of books, she still attempts to read whatever books that catches her eye-especially if they were recommended by her teachers.
